I started weekly lessons with Michelle at Minuet Music Studios in mid-2004, not knowing anything at all about piano or music theory. Speaking in January 2012, I can now sit at the piano and play pieces from my favourite composers (Mozart, Beethoven and especially Chopin). Michelle has not only taught me excellent technique but also given me the encouragement to develop as a musician and express myself on the piano with the music I’m passionate about. Michelle’s positive attitude makes everything seem easy. The decision to learn music at Minuet Music Studios has led to what I’m sure will be a lifelong love of music.
I was with Minuet Music Studio for four years, unfortunately I moved away (albeit temporarily). There are many things I miss about Geelong, and Michelle is one of them. Michelle is a truly unique person, unfortunately there are not many teachers like her out there. She is always positive, organised, full of encouragement, and I really appreciated her constructive criticism and her ability to push me when I needed a shove. It's not hard to see that Michelle is very passionate about what she does. It is this passion and her positive attitude that kept me going back for lessons. All that's left to say is, Michelle, as soon as I move back to Geelong a phone call to you will be one of the first things I do!
Minuet Music Studios has unlocked a part of me that I never knew existed. Through the professionalism, kindness and humour of my teacher, I escape the stresses of life, and am overtaken by the harmony of the music.
At 65, I am Michelle's oldest student, and although I find it hard sometimes, her love and passion for music keeps me coming back, she is always patient, encouraging and happy. Michelle loves to teach and I can recommend her to anyone young or old.
